Marinus Dijkhuizen: 'Brentford deserved draw with Ipswich Town'

Brentford head coach Marinus Dijkhuizen believes that his side deserved their late equaliser against Ipswich Town.

Brentford head coach Marinus Dijkhuizen was relieved to score a late equaliser against Ipswich Town, but believes his side deserved the point.

The Bees were 2-0 down to Mick McCarthy's side, but goals from Andre Gray and James Tarkowski in injury time ensured that both sides shared the day's spoils.

Dijkhuizen told the club's website: "I think we were too much kick and rush in the first half.

"For the first goal, there was a scrimmage, and the ball came back in. The goal wasn't a surprise to me.

"We put more strikers on. That was the only option. We created more pressure, especially Gray's running at them. We created a lot of chances in the last 30 minutes and when we finally scored I thought it was too late but we deserved a draw."

Brentford face Oxford United in the League Cup on Tuesday night.
