Inter Milan and Brazil legend Adriano has revealed that he is working on a return to professional football.
The 35-year-old was deemed one of the best strikers in the game in the 2000s, but his career was derailed by personal problems.
Adriano's last outing in professional football was in 2014, when he played only one game for Atletico Paranaense.
However, speaking after an exhibition match at the Maracana on Wednesday, the forward confirmed that he is hopeful of making a comeback.
"We're still talking, let's see how things turn out. It's all going on fine. Not just the fans, but also my family are supporting me to make this comeback," Adriano is reported by Live Soccer TV as saying.
"I'm still a bit out of shape, I'm trying to keep a decent weight. We'll work on it to return as soon as possible."
Adriano is believed to be negotiating terms with Flamengo, his first club, while Club World Cup finalists Gremio are also thought to be interested in the former Selecao star.
