Bournemouth will be attempting to avoid equalling a club record when they play host to Leicester City in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Bournemouth will attempt to avoid equalling a club record when they play Leicester City in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

With a change in ownership potentially following the dismissal of head coach Scott Parker, the Cherries have endured a turbulent time on the South Coast.

However, the newly-promoted side have enjoyed a more than satisfactory start to life back in the Premier League, collecting nine points from their eight fixtures.

Caretaker boss Gary O'Neil has put together an unforeseen four-match unbeaten streak, collecting points against Wolverhampton Wanderers, Nottingham Forest, Newcastle United and Brentford.

As a result, the Englishman is being considered for the role on a permanent basis, but that is not to say that he is not at risk of contributing to an unwanted club record.

Should Bournemouth fail to score against the Foxes this weekend, it will represent the fourth home league game in succession without troubling the scoresheet.

The only time that they recorded such a feat was back in 2004-05 when they went a quartet of League One fixtures without registering a goal.

As it stands, Bournemouth failed to score in a 3-0 defeat to Arsenal and goalless draws with Wolves and Brentford respectively.

On the flip side, Bournemouth have never lost to Leicester City at home in the Premier League, a period stretching five encounters.

Despite Bournemouth's run of impressive showings in defence and indifferent outings in the final third, they face opponents in Leicester who have been involved in eight matches featuring 36 goals.

That is second only to Manchester City, who have scored 29 times and conceded nine goals over the same amount of contests.
