Kevin Davies scores against his former club to give Bolton Wanderers the lead at Blackburn Rovers after 45 minutes.

Bolton Wanderers lead at Ewood Park going into the break thanks to an early strike from former Blackburn Rovers striker Kevin Davies.

The ex-Rovers forward made the breakthrough after just three minutes when he guided home a pinpoint cross from Chris Eagles, giving Paul Robinson no chance with a measured finish.

Dougie Freedman's side dominated the opening period and spurned chances to extend their lead through Jay Spearing, Eagles and Keith Andrews.

Blackburn offered little in reply and need to rally after the break to avoid a second home defeat in the space of four days.
