Carlos Tevez close to sealing return to Boca Juniors

Carlos Tevez close to sealing Boca return
Boca Juniors will complete the signing of Carlos Tevez from Shanghai Shenhua by the end of the week, according to vice-president Horacio Paolini.

Boca Juniors vice-president Horacio Paolini has revealed that a deal is close to being struck with Shanghai Shenhua for the signing of Carlos Tevez.

The 33-year-old has failed to adapt to life in the Far East since joining at the turn of the year, managing just four goals for the club so far.

Shenhua team manager Mao Yijun confessed last week that Tevez's future at the Hongkou Football Stadium is uncertain, with Boca keen to bring him back some 13 years after he left.

Providing an update on the situation, Boca chief Paolini suggested that an agreement could be in place by the end of the week.

"I'm constantly in touch with Carlos and we met last week for a meal," he told TYC Sports. "I'd say his return will be closed in a few days."

Tevez still has one year left to run on his existing contract, which is reportedly worth £600,000 a week.
