The game had a scrappy opening 10 minutes, as both sets of players struggled to maintain any kind of possession.

David Meyler had the first effort of the game on 15 minutes, though the midfielder could only fire over the bar from 18 yards out.

Some intricate football from Hull created an opening for Sone Aluko on 24 minutes, but the striker was unable to take advantage and was denied by a late challenge.

After 29 minutes, the home side had their first effort on goal when Thomas Ince fired a shot from 20 yards, though it was comfortably held by the goalkeeper.

Meyler had a long-range shot on 60 minutes, forcing Matt Gilks into a full-stretch save to deny the midfielder.

Blackpool had a great chance to take the lead on 71 minutes when the ball fell kindly to Ludovic Sylvestre, but the midfielder wasted the opportunity and fired over.

Hull had a huge chance on 78 minutes when Stephen Quinn found Corry Evans in the area, but his effort was fired over.

The final whistle blew with the score at 0-0.
