Blackburn to refuse Samba switch

Blackburn Rovers will reportedly refuse to let Chris Samba leave the club, despite the player lodging a transfer request.

The Rovers captain, who has been widely linked to Premier League sides Queens Park Rangers and Tottenham Hotspur, announced his desire to leave the struggling club yesterday.

While it seems that the 27-year-old has already called time on his career at Ewood Park, it is understood that manager Steve Kean has informed owners Venky's to block any sale for the Frenchman, according to the Daily Star.

Ligue 1 side Paris Saint-Germain are also believed to be interested in the defender.
