Blackburn hope to keep Hoilett

Blackburn Rovers manager Steve Kean has said that he hopes to keep in-demand forward Junior Hoilett at the club.

The 21-year-old Canadian, whose contract expires at the end of the season, has been linked with a number of Premier League clubs, including Tottenham Hotspur.

"I have spoken to the boy over a number of months," said Kean. "I have left it with the directors to get it boxed off. Hopefully we can get this deal tied up.

"He wants to play for us. If we don't [agree a deal], I'm sure he will have offers. But hopefully we can push it over the line.

"There is bound to be interest, it's not just a performance with him, it's performance after performance."

Rovers are currently bottom of the Premier League table after their 3-1 defeat to Stoke City on Saturday.
