King "very frustrated" by Blackburn snub

Joshua King has admitted that he is growing "very frustrated" with his lack of game time at Blackburn Rovers.

The former Manchester United player has yet to start a Championship match for Rovers this term, with Jordan Rhodes and Rudy Gestede being preferred in attack.

King is a regular in the Norway national team and impressed in their 1-0 friendly defeat to England last week, but he claims that his form in pre-season and international matches is being ignored.

"I did a very good pre-season and was surprised when I did not start the first match of the season against Cardiff," he told reporters.

"I came back from holiday in good shape and heard from people in the team that I was one of the very best players in the running. It is very frustrating. The situation in Blackburn is very strange.

"Had I scored a hat-trick at Wembley, it is still not certain I would start for Blackburn in the next match. The coach has his reasons. I just have to respect them and keep working hard."

King has scored two goals in 31 Blackburn starts since signing on a permanent deal in January 2013.
