Steve Kean praises Phil Jones impact

Steve Kean has said that he still feels the gap left by defender Phil Jones after his switch to Manchester United.

Jones moved to Old Trafford from Ewood Park over the summer for around £16.5m.

"The impact [Jones] has made hasn't surprised me — not with that kind of ability," Kean said.

"He has an old head on young shoulders, he has electric pace and he takes on information really well.

"He wasn't shy when giving a bit of stick out or demanding a bit more from his teammates."

Rovers travel to Old Trafford later today as they struggle to build on their 11-point standing at the bottom of the Premier League.
