Colin Hendry targets defensive improvement

New Blackburn Rovers first-team coach Colin Hendry has vowed to help the club improve their defensive record next season.

Hendry returned to Ewood Park last week after spending four years out of the game, and he believes that he will be handed the role of tightening the defence.

"There's a theme from the manager that, defensively, we can improve. Hopefully that will develop this season," he told Sky Sports News.

Hendry won the Premier League title with Rovers in 1995.
