Gary Bowyer pleased with first away victory for Blackburn Rovers

Gary Bowyer was pleased to see his Blackburn Rovers side claim their first away win of the season after beating Bournemouth 3-1 this afternoon.

Blackburn Rovers manager Gary Bowyer has expressed his delight with his side's 3-1 victory against Bournemouth in the Championship this afternoon.

A double from Jordan Rhodes and a strike from Leon Best helped Rovers to their first away win in the league this season and Bowyer felt that his side were good value for the three points.

"I thought we were excellent in the first half," he told the club's official website.

"We spoke in the week about getting the first goal and also getting the first away win and the game plan, in the first half, all the lads carried it out superbly and I thought we were very good in our pressing game and then we were very good in our attacking play.

"They are a young team that are learning and are starting to learn very quickly now, we are delighted with coming here because it is a difficult place to come. At the start of the game the outcome was to try and get three points and get our first away win and we are happy that we achieved that today."

Blackburn host Watford in the Championship on October 1.
