Blackburn Rovers boss Gary Bowyer delighted to pick up first win

Blackburn Rovers boss Gary Bowyer praises his side's first-class display in their 3-0 victory over Charlton Athletic at Ewood Park.

Blackburn Rovers boss Gary Bowyer has revealed that he was delighted with his side as they secured their first Championship win of the season against Charlton Athletic.

Jordan Rhodes struck a brace and Tom Lawrence sealed the 3-0 victory over the Addicks in the 86th minute at Ewood Park to ease the pressure on the 44-year-old.

Bowyer told the club's official website: "First and foremost we are absolutely delighted with the win for the supporters. I thought they were magnificent from start to finish, they stuck with us throughout.

"The manner of the win was first class, we scored three great goals and it could have been more as I thought their goalkeeper had a great game.

"The first goal was massively important, it gave our players a boost and we kicked on from there. When you consider that we travelled up and down to London twice this week and the efforts that the players have put in in the last two games, then it is a fantastic performance from them."

Rovers moved out of the bottom three into 19th place in the Championship as a result of their win.
