Birmingham City turn down offer for Liam Ridgewell

West Brom's Ridgewell bid rejected

Birmingham City have confirmed that they have rejected a bid from West Bromwich Albion for defender Liam Ridgewell.

The Baggies are reportedly long-term admirers of the 27-year-old and made their interest public earlier today when they submitted an offer.

However, Blues manager Chris Hughton has revealed that the bid has been turned down.

Ridgewell is said to be unhappy at St Andrew's, having handed in a transfer request in August following the club's relegation to the Championship.
