Birmingham City 'theft' arrest made in Hong Kong

Police in Hong Kong have reportedly arrested a 33-year-old man in connection with the "misappropriated" £2.5m that Birmingham City's owners reported yesterday.

According to the BBC, the Wanchai district crime squad released the suspect without charge and are now investigating the matter further.

Birmingham International Holdings yesterday called in the police to help after discovering that they could have been without the substantial amount of money for over a year.

They also said that the loss could "have a material impact on the operation and financial situation of the group".
