Team News: Roberto Lewandowski drops to Bayern Munich bench at Benfica

Lewandowski benched by Bayern

Pep Guardiola has dropped Robert Lewandowski to the Bayern Munich bench for tonight's Champions League quarter-final second leg at Benfica.

Lewandowski losing out is one of two changes made by Guardiola from the 1-0 victory in last week's first leg, with Juan Bernat the other player dropping to the bench.

Spanish duo Javi Martinez and Xabi Alonso are the two new faces in the side, with Thomas Muller assuming Lewandowski's role as the main striker.

Benfica, meanwhile, have lost three of their key players going forward.

Jonas is suspended, while Kostas Mitroglou and Nicolas Gaitan both miss out through injury. In come Eduardo Salvio, Mehdi Carcela-Gonzalez and Raul Jimenez.
