Preview: Benfica vs. Bayer Leverkusen

Sports Mole previews the Champions League clash between Benfica and Bayer Leverkusen in Group C.

Bayer Leverkusen make the trip to Benfica in the Champions League on Tuesday with a first-place finish in Group C within their grasp.

The Germans, who are already assured a spot in the last 16, currently have a one-point lead over Monaco in the standings and will go through as group leaders with a win.

A draw could also be enough for the Bundesliga outfit should Monaco fail to beat Zenit St Petersburg in their final game. Meanwhile, Benfica are destined to finish at the bottom of the table following three defeats in their first five games.

Leverkusen saw off the Portuguese side 3-1 when they met at the BayArena two months ago as goals from Stefan Kiessling, Son Heung-min and Hakan Calhanoglu did the damage.

Luisao and Andreas Samaris are both suspended for the home side, while Eliseu and Silvio are both missing through injury. Kyriakos Papadopoulos and Stefan Reinartz are sidelined for the visitors.
