Bayern Munich plan Dimitar Berbatov bid

Bayern Munich are ready to make a serious bid for Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov.

United boss Sir Alex Ferguson recently revealed that he is planning to extend the Bulgarian's contract at Old Trafford for another year.

However, this is seen as a move to earn back some of the £30m the Scot splashed out on the former Tottenham Hotspur forward, according to insidefutbol.com.

The 30-year-old has made just four starts for the Premier League champions this season and could be tempted to join one of Europe's biggest clubs.
