Alaba closes in on Madrid move?

Bayern Munich youngster David Alaba is said to have taken a large step towards joining Real Madrid, with reports in Spain suggesting that talks between the two parties have opened up.

The 22-year-old, who penned a new five-year contract at the Bavarian giants in 2013, is thought to be rated at around £30m by the Bundesliga side.

Marca claims that the father and agent of the Austria international, George Alaba, held a meeting with a number of Madrid representatives in Vienna this week to discuss a possible move.

However, a potential exit is claimed to be a complicated matter, as Alaba is still unsure whether to move on from the club he initially joined back in 2008.

Alaba, who is comfortable playing at full-back and in central midfield, has made 29 appearances for Bayern this season under Pep Guardiola, scoring five goals in all competitions.
