Lewandowski happy to handle pressure

Robert Lewandowski has admitted that it is pleasing to meet expectations after helping Bayern Munich to a 6-0 victory over SC Paderborn this afternoon.

The Polish striker returned to the starting lineup to score a brace in another emphatic win as Bayern made it 14 goals in their last two Bundesliga games, and he was quick to praise the quality of the performance just four days after the disappointing goalless draw with Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League.

"After playing in the Champions League earlier in the week, we knew we'd have to put in a really good shift and win. We're happy," Lewandowski told reporters.

"I know what the fans, coach and team expect of me. When you play in a big team, expectations are high. Obviously it's nice when you score one or two yourself. I'd have liked to have scored another in the second half though."

Bayern are 11 points clear of second-placed Wolfsburg, who host Hertha Berlin on Sunday afternoon, in the Bundesliga table.
