Half-Time Report: Chris O'Grady penalty puts Barnsley in front

O'Grady penalty puts Barnsley in front

Barnsley are currently leading Blackpool 1-0 at half time, courtesy of a penalty from Chris O'Grady in injury time.

The game started slowly, with Isaiah Osbourne receiving a yellow card for a trip on Dale Jennings after just five minutes.

Three minutes later, Brek Shea was left unmarked from a Barnsley corner, but he blazed his effort over the bar.

In the 12th minute, a ball in from Barry Ferguson was headed over by Chris Basham.

On the half-hour mark, Thomas Ince was able to take the ball down on his chest, but his half-volley flew over the bar.

Just before half time, an Ince free kick was punched away by Luke Steele, but the ball fell to Neal Bishop, who tapped it in. The referee, however, disallowed the goal for offside.

Deep in first-half injury time, Matt Gilks was adjudged to have brought down Stephen Dawson inside the box, and O'Grady scored from the penalty spot to put the Tykes in front.
