Everton show interest in Barcelona starlet Gerard Gonzalez?

Everton have reportedly identified Barcelona youngster Gerard Gonzalez as a potential signing.

With the Toffees having ambitions to secure European football on a regular basis, Carlo Ancelotti is expected to target senior additions during the next transfer window.

However, according to Sport, the Merseyside outfit are also considering prospects who could emerge as first-team players in the coming years.

The report says that Gonzalez is of interest to Everton, with the 16-year-old having already impressed for club and country in his age group.

As it stands, Gonzalez, a left-footed defender, does not hold a senior contract at Camp Nou, leaving open the possibility of an exit in the future.
