Barcelona, Atletico Madrid to battle for West Ham United defender Issa Diop?

Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are reportedly weighing up offers for West Ham United centre-back Issa Diop.

The 23-year-old has spent the past two seasons in English football with West Ham, making 64 appearances in all competitions.

Diop's displays have caught the eye in what has otherwise been a disappointing campaign for the Irons, who may be forced to offload their star men if they drop into the Championship.

According to a report in Spain, Barcelona and Atletico are waiting to pounce at the end of the season even if West Ham avoid relegation.

Atleti boss Diego Simeone is said to be unhappy with Mario Hermoso and wants to bring in a new defender, while Barca are also looking to the future with their summer signings.

Premier League pair Arsenal and Manchester United have previously been linked with Diop, who came through Toulouse's academy system.
