How Atletico Madrid could line up against Barcelona

Ahead of the Supercopa de Espana semi-final between Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, Sports Mole looks at how Diego Simeone's side could line up in Jeddah.

Atletico Madrid take on Barcelona in the semi-finals of the Supercopa de Espana looking to extend their winning streak in all competitions to five matches.

After defeating Lokomotiv Moscow in the Champions League, Atletico have recorded victories over Osasuna, Real Betis and Levante in La Liga.

However, Diego Simeone's team have failed to defeat Barcelona in their last nine attempts, the latest of which came at the start of December.

Here, Sports Mole predicts how Los Rojiblancos could line up for the showdown in Saudi Arabia.

Given their recent success, Simeone must decide whether to make any enforced alterations to his starting lineup.

Koke appears to be the most likely to be recalled to the team after injury, potentially in place of Hector Herrera.

Stefan Savic and Sime Vrsaljko are also in contention after spells on the sidelines, although it would come as a surprise if either defender featured from the opening whistle.

Mario Hermoso may be the next port of call should Simeone switch up his backline, while youngster Sergio Camello is pushing for an appearance in the final third.

With Alvaro Morata having scored twice in his last three matches, Joao Felix would most likely make way if the teenager were handed an opportunity to impress.
