Marc-Andre ter Stegen: 'I will not change'

Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen insists that he does not need to alter his playing style despite a couple of errors in his last two games.

Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen has insisted that he will not change his style of play amid criticism of his last two performances.

The German was beaten from 60 yards in Barcelona's Champions League clash against Roma last week, which led to criticism of his advanced position on the pitch.

Ter Stegen was also culpable for Levante's sole strike during the La Liga fixture on Sunday, but the 22-year-old has said that he will not abandon his style, which mirrors that of Bayern Munich's Manuel Neuer.

"[Levante's goal came from] defensive confusion," he told Movistar+. "I'm not thinking about [what happened in] Rome or my place in the team. It's your [journalists] job to think and talk about it.

"Of course [I'll continue playing the way I do]. Why do I have to change? Everything's going well."

Ter Stegen, who only made his La Liga debut this season despite joining the Catalan side last summer, currently has the gloves for Barcelona due to Claudio Bravo's injury.
