Barcelona's Javier Mascherano: 'No margin for error'

Barcelona centre-back Javier Mascherano insists that his team cannot afford to take Granada lightly when they play for the La Liga title this weekend.

Javier Mascherano has claimed that Barcelona have "no margin for error" in Saturday's La Liga clash with Granada.

Three points for the Catalan outfit in Andalusia would secure a 24th La Liga title and ensure that they finish above second-placed Real Madrid, who have won their last 11 in Spain's top flight.

Any slip from Barcelona would allow Real Madrid to snatch the title, however, providing that Zinedine Zidane's side can collect all the points away to Deportivo La Coruna on the same afternoon.

Mascherano is expecting "a tough game", but is confident that his side will get over the line.

"At the end of the day we are not only playing against our opponents, but ourselves. We are a unit and know it will all depend on us. It will be a tough game like the others we've had in the past few weeks," Mascherano told ESPN.

"There is going to be no margin for error, which means we'll try to go out in the best way possible to avoid any mistakes. We know it will be difficult playing against a team who have nothing to play for, but hopefully we'll get more freedom and time."

Atletico Madrid dropped out of the title race with a 2-1 defeat at Levante last weekend.
