Philippe Coutinho not given number seven shirt at Barcelona?

New Barcelona signing Philippe Coutinho has reportedly been given the number 14 shirt after completing a transfer from Liverpool.

In the days leading up to the big-money switch, reports had suggested that Coutinho would wear the number seven shirt with Arda Turan expected to leave Camp Nou in January.

However, according to Sky Sports News, Coutinho will instead take on the number 14 shirt if, as expected, Javier Mascherano leaves for the Chinese Super League.

Johan Cruyff and Thierry Henry have both previously worn the number 14 shirt during their time with the Catalan giants.

Coutinho faces a three-week spell on the sidelines with a thigh injury, giving Mascherano time to complete a move to Asia.
