How Barcelona could line up against Granada

How Barcelona could line up against Granada

Barcelona will be looking to continue their pursuit of Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid when they continue their La Liga campaign away to Granada on Saturday night.

Ronald Koeman's side have beaten Huesca and Athletic Bilbao in their last matches to move into third position in the table, five points behind second-placed Real Madrid.

The Catalan giants are now only seven points behind leaders Atletico, although Diego Simeone's side have two games in hand over Barca, who have lost three times on their travels in the league this term.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how the visitors could line up against Granada.

Out: Philippe Coutinho (knee), Sergi Roberto (muscle), Gerard Pique (knee), Ansu Fati (knee), Clement Lenglet (suspended)

Barca will again be without the services of Philippe Coutinho, Sergi Roberto, Gerard Pique and Ansu Fati through injury, but Koeman's side did not pick up any fresh fitness issues against Athletic.

Clement Lenglet is suspended due to the yellow card that he received on Wednesday, though, meaning that Oscar Mingueza could return to the starting XI.

Lionel Messi was back to his best against the Basque outfit, and it would not be a surprise to see Koeman send nearly the same XI onto the field for a second successive match.

Ousmane Dembele could therefore again get the nod on the left, with Antoine Griezmann keeping out Martin Braithwaite to feature down the left.

Pedri has been in impressive form for Barca this season, already making 22 appearances in all competitions, and the 18-year-old is expected to retain his spot in the final third of the field.

Miralem Pjanic is an option for change in midfield, but the manner of the performance against Athletic could mean that Koeman keeps consistency for what is a tough match against Europa League side Granada.
