How Barcelona could line up against Viktoria Plzen

How Barcelona could line up against Viktoria Plzen

Barcelona boss Xavi is likely to have a fully-fit squad for Wednesday's Champions League clash with Viktoria Plzen at Camp Nou.

The Catalan outfit had a full complement of players available for Saturday's La Liga clash with Sevilla at Estadio Ramon, which ended in a 3-0 victory for the visitors.

Xavi is expected to resist the temptation to make wholesale changes for this European contest, but there are likely to be alterations from the weekend.

Eric Garcia could drop out of the defence to allow Andreas Christensen to feature, while Frenkie de Jong is in line for a start in midfield, with Gavi potentially dropping to the bench.

Xavi is also expected to consider a change in the final third of the field, with Ferran Torres potentially coming in for Ousmane Dembele to start alongside Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha.

Jordi Alba and Gerard Pique are currently out of favour at Camp Nou; the duo could be considered for starts here, but it would not be a surprise to see them on the bench once again.

Memphis Depay and Franck Kessie could also potentially earn minutes depending on how the contest unfolds on Wednesday night.

Ansu Fati again impressed off the bench against Sevilla, but the Spain international's fitness is being carefully monitored due to his injury problems, so he is unlikely to be considered for a start here.

Barcelona possible starting lineup: Ter Stegen; Kounde, Araujo, Christensen, Balde; De Jong, Busquets, Pedri; Raphinha, Lewandowski, F Torres
