Marc-Andre ter Stegen: 'Champions League is special'

Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen has revealed his excitement at playing in the Champions League this season.

The German has still not made his league debut for the Spanish champions, with Claudio Bravo, who also joined last summer, given the gloves in La Liga.

Ter Stegen has been the first-choice stopper in Europe, however, and he has said that it is "a great feeling to play in the Champions League".

"It's a great feeling to play in the Champions League because you always associate something with the anthem," he told UEFA.com.

"For us players it's a great feeling. It's something special. When the anthem sounds I know it's time for the Champions League and it gives me goosebumps.

"I believe every player, fan and Coach wants this trophy. It's unbelievable and is one of the greatest achievements you can have in football because that's what we fight for every day."

Barcelona will welcome Bayern Munich for the first leg of their Champions League semi-final on Wednesday.
