AZ Alkmaar lineup vs. Tottenham: Predicted XI for Europa League encounter

Ex-Spurs man to return to North London: AZ predicted lineup vs. Tottenham

Former Tottenham Hotspur youth graduate Troy Parrott is set to make an instant return to his old club when AZ Alkmaar travel to North London in the Europa League on Thursday.

Parrott left Spurs in a deal with around £6.5m over the summer, having made four senior appearances and spending time away on loan at Millwall, Ipswich Town, MK Dons, Preston North End and Excelsior.

The 22-year-old opted to return to the Netherlands after a positive spell in the Eredivisie last season, and the Irish international has netted six goals in his first 11 matches for AZ, including the winner on matchday one in this competition.

AZ have lost every game since that win over Elfsborg in mid-September, though, so manager Maarten Martens will hope to welcome back some important players from injury in the hope of springing a surprise here.

Ibrahim Sadiq returned from Ghana duty with an injury and is doubtful after missing the defeat to PSV Eindhoven at the weekend.

Former Premier League defender Bruno Martins Indi is also unlikely to make a return to England as a muscle injury has kept him sidelined for the last few weeks, so Jordy Clasie will be the only player with experience of facing Spurs from his time at Southampton almost a decade ago.

Elsewhere on the injury list, young trio Wouter Goes, Mexx Meerdink and Lequincio Zeefuik are also set to miss out for the visitors here.

David Moller Wolfe was sent off inside 10 minutes at the weekend, but will still be available here before serving his suspension in the league clash with Go Ahead Eagles on Sunday.

AZ Alkmaar possible starting lineup: Owusu-Oduro; Maikuma, Penetra, Dekker, Wolfe; Clasie, Mijnans, Koopmeiners; Buurmeester, Parrott, Van Bommel
