Report: Atletico Madrid want Odion Ighalo

A report claims that Atletico Madrid want to sign Watford's in-form striker Odion Ighalo in the January transfer window.

Atletico Madrid will reportedly attempt to sign Watford's in-form striker Odion Ighalo in the January transfer window.

The Nigerian has struck 25 league goals this calendar year – more than any other player in English football – and 13 of those have come in the Premier League this season.

Ighalo has plenty of experience in La Liga having represented Granada during two separate loan spells from Udinese, before completing a permanent move to Watford last year.

According to The Mirror, Atletico boss Diego Simeone is a huge admirer of the 26-year-old and will tell his club to push ahead with a move next month.

Ighalo scored 20 Championship goals last season as Watford won promotion to the top flight.
