Mario Mandzukic: 'I'm happy at Atletico Madrid'

Mario Mandzukic has revealed his happiness at how his first season at Atletico Madrid has unfolded.

The Croatian, who joined the Spanish champions from Bayern Munich in the summer, has netted 19 goals in 30 games for Atleti this season.

It had been claimed that a number of Premier League clubs were preparing moves for the 28-year-old, but he has played down talk of a switch.

"I'm already at a big team. I've never considered leaving Atletico because I'm happy here," Football Espana quotes the forward as saying.

"The media exaggerate little things. They write that I'm not happy [at the club] when everyone could see in the derby how happy I am at Atletico."

Mandzukic signed a four-year deal with Atletico last summer.
