De Gea 'hoping' for Atletico return

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has conceded that he would one day like to return to Atletico Madrid.

The 22-year-old left his boyhood club in the summer of 2011 to join the Premier League champions in a deal thought to be worth around £16m.

Having seen Atletico win the Copa del Rey this season at the expense of city rivals Real Madrid, Spanish international De Gea admitted that he would consider a second stint with Los Rojiblancos in the future.

"To win at Madrid's Bernabeu in a final, I cannot ask for anything more because they also have qualified for the Champions and have made a great season. Hopefully in the future I can return, you never know. It has been and will always be my home," he told AS.

De Gea made 84 appearances during his two years as the senior keeper at the Vicente Calderon.
