Mallorca took the lead moments into the second period when Diego Godin scored an own goal after good work from Michael Pereira, before Pereira added the home side's second with a cool finish to send them 2-0 ahead after 49 minutes.

The home side were reduced to ten men after 53 minutes, however, when Ivan Ramis was shown a red card for a hand ball in the area, but Falcao's penalty was pushed away by Aouate.
