Miranda hails battling Atletico Madrid

Miranda praises his Atletico Madrid teammates for their battling qualities as they inch closer to the La Liga title.

Atletico Madrid defender Miranda has praised the side's battling qualities after their 2-0 win against Elche.

Diego Simeone's side are now six points ahead of Barcelona and city rivals Real in La Liga, although they have played a game more.

Miranda, who headed the opener yesterday evening, claimed that the side is able to win when not at their best.

"This was an important win," he told Canal+. "We must carry on like this.

"We've got four finals left now and the team knows how to suffer, when we have to suffer.

"Now though, we must rest and think about the game against Chelsea."

Atletico welcome Chelsea on Tuesday, in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final tie.
