Diego Costa says Atletico Madrid "deserved" qualification

Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa feels that his side were well worth their progression to the knockout stages of the Champions League.

Los Rojiblancos beat Austria Vienna 4-0 on Wednesday evening to confirm their place in the last 16, and the striker feels that they "deserved" their qualification.

"We knew it was very important to win today because of the [1-1] result between Zenit St Petersburg and Porto," he told UEFA.com

"The team was great today and we deserved to reach the round of 16."

The Spain striker missed a penalty in the win, before eventually adding the fourth goal.
