Rennes have confirmed the signing of midfielder Yacouba Sylla from Aston Villa.
The 24-year-old has penned a four-year contract with the Ligue 1 outfit.
He had joined Villa from Clermont Foot in January 2013, but he made just 22 Premier League appearances and was loaned out to Turkish club Kayseri Erciyesspor last season.
Sylla is a Mali international and has played 12 times for his country.
