Aston Villa defender Jose Angel Crespo to return to Spain?

A report claims that unsettled Aston Villa defender Jose Angel Crespo could return to Spain, with Rayo Vallecano in the running for the full-back.

Aston Villa defender Jose Angel Crespo is reportedly in talks with Rayo Vallecano over a return to La Liga.

The full-back joined Villa from Cordoba last summer, but has only made one Premier League appearance this season.

The 28-year-old, who started his career at Sevilla, has an offer to return to Spain, however, with Rayo interested in his signature, according to The Mirror.

It is unclear whether Crespo will seek a loan or permanent move away from Villa this month, but the former Spain Under-21 international looks set to depart England.

Crespo penned a three-year deal with Villa upon joining the English club on July 27, 2015.
