With each passing day, the summer transfer window is building towards a breathtaking climax, with clubs becoming busier than ever in the transfer market.
As several big-money moves and important deals begin to take shape, Sports Mole rounds up the latest transfer stories, rumours and developments doing the rounds this morning.
Aston Villa close to new signing?
Aston Villa are reportedly close to finalising a deal for former Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka.
The Germany international left Bayern at the end of last season following the expiry of his contract, bringing an eight-year spell at the German club to an end.
The 31-year-old contributed 51 goals and 53 assists in 312 appearances across all competitions during his trophy-laden stint at the Allianz Arena.
According to Sky Sports News, talks between Villa and Goretzka's agent have progressed well, with negotiations now at an advanced stage.
Unai Emery was disappointed to miss out on Bayern midfielder Joao Palhinha, but it appears the Spaniard could now land Goretzka instead on a free transfer.
Newcastle United receive bid for midfielder?
This has been a massive window for the Magpies, who have already offloaded some of their key players.
The likes of Anthony Gordon, Bruno Guimaraes and Sandro Tonali have all left the club, and further departures could follow before the end of the window.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Turkish club Besiktas have submitted a bid for Joe Willock, who has emerged as their top midfield target.
Willock initially joined the Magpies on loan from Arsenal before completing a permanent move in 2021.
The 27-year-old has scored 11 goals in 168 appearances for Newcastle, and the decision over his future now rests with the club.
Fiorentina interested in Everton striker?
Serie A club Fiorentina are reportedly interested in Everton striker Beto in case Moise Kean departs this summer.
Beto joined the Toffees in the summer of 2023 and has scored 25 goals in 111 appearances for the club across all competitions.
According to Sky Sports News, Como are keen to sign Kean and have already seen an offer rejected.
Should Como succeed in reaching an agreement for the Italy international, Fiorentina are likely to turn their attention towards Beto.
Everton do not have an abundance of recognised strikers in their squad, meaning they would likely need to sign a replacement before considering Beto's departure.
Crystal Palace star set for exit?
The Eagles began their 2026-27 Premier League campaign with a 2-0 defeat to Everton away from home on Saturday.
However, more than the result, new Palace boss Pierre Sage's major concern is reportedly resolving the club's transfer issues.
Jean-Philippe Mateta is reportedly agitating for a move, while Ismaila Sarr was omitted from the Palace squad for the defeat at Everton.
According to The Standard, Galatasaray are keen to sign Sarr and have submitted an offer in the region of £30m.
Sarr has reportedly reached an agreement on personal terms with Galatasaray and is pushing for a move away from Selhurst Park.
