Aston Villa close to new signing?

Aston Villa are reportedly close to finalising a deal for former Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka.

The Germany international left Bayern at the end of last season following the expiry of his contract, bringing an eight-year spell at the German club to an end.

The 31-year-old contributed 51 goals and 53 assists in 312 appearances across all competitions during his trophy-laden stint at the Allianz Arena.

According to Sky Sports News, talks between Villa and Goretzka's agent have progressed well, with negotiations now at an advanced stage.

Unai Emery was disappointed to miss out on Bayern midfielder Joao Palhinha, but it appears the Spaniard could now land Goretzka instead on a free transfer.

Newcastle United receive bid for midfielder?

This has been a massive window for the Magpies, who have already offloaded some of their key players.

Serie A club Fiorentina are reportedly interested in Everton striker Beto in case Moise Kean departs this summer.

Beto joined the Toffees in the summer of 2023 and has scored 25 goals in 111 appearances for the club across all competitions.

According to Sky Sports News, Como are keen to sign Kean and have already seen an offer rejected.

Should Como succeed in reaching an agreement for the Italy international, Fiorentina are likely to turn their attention towards Beto.
