Aston Villa lineup vs. Everton: Predicted XI as visitors seek to end five-game losing away streak at Goodison

Will Duran replace Watkins? Aston Villa predicted lineup vs. Everton

Aston Villa will have Jhon Duran available for selection again when they travel to face Everton at Goodison Park on Wednesday.

Duran has missed the last three matches due to suspension after his red card for a perceived stamp on Newcastle's Fabian Schar on Boxing Day, meaning Ollie Watkins came back into the side after being dropped for the Colombian.

The young striker was the match-winner off the bench when Villa faced Everton earlier in the season, scoring a goal-of-the-season contender to complete a dramatic come-from-behind victory in September, and his form prior to the red card which saw him score in every start this season, could see Unai Emery reinstate him to the team.

Morgan Rogers is also set to return after being left on the bench for the FA Cup win over West Ham United last week, and making a huge impact when introduced, scoring the eventual winning goal.

The man who brought them back into the game also came off the bench, and that was Amadou Onana, who could make his first return to Goodison Park since leaving Everton for £50m in the summer.

Ross Barkley will not feature on his old stomping ground, though, because he was forced off with a calf injury in the first half against West Ham, and Emery has revealed he will miss the next two-to-three weeks.

With John McGinn also out with a hamstring issue, that may force Emery to go more offensive than usual on the road, with Leon Bailey and Jacob Ramsey battling for a start in the front three.

The Villa manager has problems in defence too, with Pau Torres out for the next two months and Diego Carlos doubtful with a foot injury, so Tyrone Mings is set to partner Ezri Konsa at the back.

Emi Martinez is not expected to be one of those concerns, though, with Emery stating he expects the Argentina goalkeeper to return here after missing the West Ham game with a minor setback.

Aston Villa possible starting lineup: Martinez; Cash, Konsa, Mings, Digne; Kamara, Onana, Tielemans; Bailey, Duran, Rogers
