Aston Villa youngster signs new deal

Aston Villa starlet Daniel Johnson has signed a new contract that will keep him at Villa Park until June 2013.

The Jamacian-born 19-year-old has been a stand-out performer for the Villain's academy side since joining from Crystal Palace.

Johnson captained the title-winning youth side last season. He has also impressed at reserve-level and has scored three times in Villa's NextGen Series European campaign.

The midfielder was named among the first-team substitutes for the Premier League games against Manchester United and Blackpool last season.
