Aston Villa have recalled Barry Bannan from Leeds as they prepare for the last few weeks of the season.
The midfielder began his Elland Road stay on March 7, since which he has made seven appearances for the team. He has spent the last three games on the subs’ bench.
“We always knew there was a possibility Barry could be recalled and I understand why Villa want him back,” Leeds manager Simon Grayson said.
“I’d like to thank them for allowing him to come to us. I hope he enjoyed his time here and we wish Barry and Villa the best for the rest of the season.”
The Scottish international rejoins Villa ahead of their last four games of the Premiership. They are currently seven points above the relegation zone.
