Former Arsenal and England defender Tony Adams is reportedly part of a consortium who have approached potential investors about backing a £150m takeover of Aston Villa.
The 48-year-old is said to have teamed up with former Chelsea executive Paul Smith to form a new company called Halo.
According to Sky News, the duo have approached numerous investment firms about raising around £75m to fund the takeover bid for Villa, who have been up for sale since last summer.
It has been reported that both Adams and Smith want to use their company to buy the Premier League outfit, as well as purchase stakes in other football clubs.
