Remi Garde "sure" that wins will come for Aston Villa

Aston Villa manager Remi Garde admits that he is "concerned" by the club's deepening troubles but claims that wins will come soon.

Remi Garde has reiterated his belief that Aston Villa can stop the rot soon, despite seeing them fall to their 13th defeat of the season on Monday.

The 2-0 loss at Norwich City extended the Villans' winless run in the league to 18 games - a club record - to leave them 11 points adrift of safety at the bottom of the table.

Garde, who is yet to register a win since replacing Tim Sherwood last month, admitted that he was "concerned" by the return of just five points from the last 54 available but claimed that it was only a matter of time before victories would come.

The Frenchman told Sky Sports News: "I'm very concerned of course about the situation but I will be the last man not to believe that we are still capable of winning games. I'm sure we will. Today was not the right one because of many circumstances but I still believe that my players are good enough to win games.

"Unfortunately this season is a very difficult one for Villa. Since I came [to the club] we didn't win, but I am working on that with my players in bad moments.

"Sometimes in football you have to cope with this kind of situation and we will all together because we are playing for a big club. I am managing a big club, I know that. Sometimes in football you deserve not what you have."

Garde's charges have another chance to get three points on the board when they visit fellow strugglers Sunderland on Saturday.
