Former Paris Saint-Germain boss Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly open to the possibility of becoming Aston Villa manager.

Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly open to the possibility of managing Aston Villa.

The former Tottenham Hotspur boss has been out of work since leaving Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the 2021-22 season despite winning the Ligue 1 title.

Pochettino is believed to have recently turned down the chance to take over as Nice manager, instead opting to continue his search for the right project

According to Football Insider, the Argentine is not only entertaining offers from Champions League clubs and as a result, he would be open to managing the Midlands club.

Steven Gerrard's position as Villa boss is currently under scrutiny despite overseeing a 1-0 victory over Southampton before the international break.

The Villans currently sit in 15th place in the Premier League with seven points to their name after losing four of their opening seven league matches.

Gerrard will have the chance to guide his side to consecutive wins when they travel to Elland Road to face Leeds United on October 2.
