Sepp Blatter sends support to Stiliyan Petrov

FIFA President Sepp Blatter has taken to Twitter to wish Aston Villa midfielder Stiliyan Petrov well in his battle against leukaemia.

The 32-year-old is due to start treatment on Monday after being diagnosed with the illness, but he was present during Villa's 4-2 loss to Chelsea on Saturday.

"Very sad to hear about Stiliyan Petrov's illness. Wish him strength in his fight to win this battle," Blatter tweeted.

Petrov has made 218 appearances for Villa.
