Darren Bent: Fernando Torres is the best striker in the league

Aston Villa forward Darren Bent has said that he thinks Chelsea's Fernando Torres is the best striker in the Premier League.

Bent, who may face off against Torres when England take on Spain on Saturday, admitted that he is a big fan of the Spaniard.

"Torres is the best striker in the Premier League when fit, he's that good. I've followed him from Atletico Madrid right through to Chelsea," Bent said.

"Even though he missed a chance at Blackburn, he's still the best.

"He's quick, powerful, has a good touch, can shoot with either foot and use his head."

Torres has scored just three Premier League goals for Chelsea since joining for £50m in January, while Bent has netted six for Villa so far this season.
