Philippe Senderos suffers calf injury on international duty

Aston Villa defender Philippe Senderos has suffered a calf injury while on international duty with Switzerland.

The 29-year-old is to miss his country's upcoming matches against Lithuania and Poland.

Senderos returned to Villa on Tuesday after picking up the problem during a training session.

However, it is unclear how long the centre-back will be out of action for.

Villa will be looking to end a seven-game winless run in the Premier League when they return to action at home to Southampton on November 24.
