James Rodriguez: 'Falcao determined to make World Cup'

Rodriguez reveals Falcao World Cup hope

James Rodriguez has revealed that Monaco and Colombia teammate Radamel Falcao is confident about being fit for the World Cup.

The 28-year-old looked certain to miss this summer's tournament in June after sustaining cruciate ligament damage for the Ligue 1 outfit in January.

However, Rodriguez says that the former Atletico Madrid hitman has not yet conceded defeat in his bid to recover in time to make the trip to Brazil.

He told reporters: "I spoke to Falcao yesterday on the phone. He is working hard, he's very determined and confident that he will make it to the World Cup."

Falcao had struck nine times in France's top flight for the principality club this season prior to his injury.
